The Best Summit Spots Near me

We awoke at 5am in the morning to ascend to the final leg of our 4 days hike on top of Poon Hill (3210 M). I placed my tripod down and set my camera up for a long exposure shot and this was the result. After about 40km of hiking, this shot was definitely worth every ounce of effort! The mountain range you’re looking at is the Annapurna mountain range with the middle peak being Annapurna South.

Nepal has the most amazing starry skies I have ever seen. ⛰️✨ On a good night the sky is so clear that you can see the milky way bending over the horizon and tens of thousands of stars glimmering with your own eyes. And when it all happens among the world’s most magnificent mountains the setup is perfect.

This has to be one of the best views I have ever seen. The hike was so much fun across different terrains, and the views from the top were spectacular, with ever changing weather and the occasional burst of sunlight casting warm tones on the land.

Last year I quit my job to travel around the world and I started learning about photography. I switched from sitting in front of a desk to sit in front of mountains. One destination that changed my life was Patagonia, I’ve never seen so much beauty around me. I was amazed how all the forces, elements, atoms on this universe come together to create beautiful things like this everyday. We saw a magical sunrise this morning from Sunnega. After that we hiked across Stellisee, Fluhalp, Grindjesee and Findeln back to Zermatt. Just beautiful!

I carried my Canon 70-200mm 2.8 all the way to base camp. I barely used it and it was very heavy, I think this is one of the only photos I really like that I took with it.

My husband and I were exploring the trail to Hidden Lake in West Glacier, when we spotted a ridge line to our right. We knew it was the perfect spot to wander off the beaten path. We scaled up steep loose rock, boulders tumbling beneath our feet, and followed the mountain’s curves up a more solid incline until we came to a giant rock. It was the mountain’s vertical boundary for us, since crampons were needed to scale any further up into the slick summer glacier slush. Sensing the perfect photo op, my husband hopped up on the rock, dark cliffs looming behind him and this view in front of him.

I have been hiking the Serr de Tramuntana mountains in Majorca for the past 20 years. The Penyal des Migdia is the highest climbable mountain without obtaining a license in this mountain range. We set out to climb it for sunset and biwaked on the peak.

Over the summer, my best friend Grant and I went backpacking. I captured this shot naked, shortly before sunset, just after we hopped out of the pools surrounding our camp. It was magical and all too much fun.

Have always loved winter season and this was taken from my trip to New Zealand, on a hike to the top of Roys Peak.

Flying with my dad is always a joy. We took up some friends of ours to Knik Glacier just East of Anchorage. Was a great flight with beautiful scenery.
