🏖️ CoastOnly 20 km from Faro, this small fishing village lives from fishing, salt marshes and increasingly from tourism. Thanks to its beaches and its proximity to the island of Armona-Fuseta you can benefit from camping parks and a lively and authentic atmosphere throughout the year. Wandering through the city center, you will come across a covered market that allows you to discover the richness of Fuseta. As you stroll through it, you will find plenty of fresh fish from the fishing boats docked across the street or food from the local fields. The diversity of food, including fish, fruits and vegetables of the season, is a real culinary journey for the taste buds. What also makes Fuseta so special is that it abounds in restaurants. You can enjoy service on the terrace, by the river or on shady plazas, where you can select the fish of your choice which will then be grilled before your eyes. Protected from the wind and waves by the lagoon, its fine sandy beach, the only place in the eastern Algarve where you can enjoy a beach in the city center, is perfect for swimming, lounging, or sipping a drink on the terrace of the beach bar. It takes only 5 minutes by ferry, to reach the island of Armona, part of the Ria Formosa Natural Park, which is a true paradise bordered by translucent water and extends for 8 km facing the Atlantic. For cycling enthusiasts, the Ecovia do Litoral, a 214 km long marked and developed cycling path, passes through Fuseta and follows the entire southern coast of the Algarve between fine sandy beaches, immense limestone cliffs and green hills. This makes an exciting bike ride through protected natural areas, fishing villages and historic towns with a well-preserved heritage. On the other hand, its small train station, located on the line that runs along the coast from Faro to the Spanish border, is very convenient for a day's shopping in Faro or a meal in a restaurant in the historic center of Tavira, avoiding the bother of taking your vehicle.
