Wat Arun: the temple of the dawn in Bangkok

On the right bank of Chao Phraya, Wat Arun, or temple of the Dawn is one of the most known Buddhist monuments of Bangkok. 
It faces on the other part of the bank the Grand Palace and the Temple of Wat Pho

Wat Arun draws its name from Aruna, the solar god of the Hinduists. 
Hence its name is "temple of the Dawn", by which it is designated. 

Wat Arun is one of the three most visited pagodas in Bangkok, along with the temple of the Reclining Buddha and the Emerald Buddha. 

However, the unique charm of the temple is its dreamy architecture.
Which combines a Khmer-style mountain temple with delicate porcelain and shell mosaics.

Although it is known as the Temple of Dawn, it is beautiful at sunset, especially with the Night lighting.
