I’m super excited to start sharing some of the special moments we witnessed during my second visit to Iceland. From the powerful waterfalls, majestic mountains and incredible aurora displays, it was a truly unforgettable adventure. I captured this photo during a beautifully still morning in the shadow of the Vestrahorn, a famous mountain in the south-east of Iceland. After a storm almost blew us away we persevered and waited out for 24 hours to enjoy this calm that followed.

a shot I like a lot from a very miserable rainy day I had to dry the lens after each shot and put my mini umbrella over the camera to give some protection. the good part the color of the ice was very intense

On the south side of Jökulsárlón you will find a beach where the most beautiful diamonds (glacier ice) melt away on the beach or break under pressure of the waves from the rough Icelandic ocean. When visiting Jökulsárlón don’t forget to visit the beach your eyes will be amazed.

And there it was a huge chunk of ice floating at sea. You could see it move every time a wave was closing by.

Growing up in Australia I had never seen big floating icebergs like this before. It was an incredible sight, we spent the whole afternoon running around trying to get the best shots from the shore and above with the drone.

Our last stop for the day was the really beautiful diamond beach, an image that does not need any filters or color corrections stuns you because it kind of looks like valuable stones but is just ice.

A freezing cold night camping on the ice beach next to Jökulsárlón was completely worth it to wake up to this view. Every where we turned in Iceland made us feel like we were visiting another planet!

The glaciers of Iceland are receding, these are broken pieces that wash out to sea only to be washed back up onto the black sand beach. They nearly glow against the black sand like diamonds.

A first visit to Jokulsarlon ice lagoon in Iceland and my first sight of a glacier. The scale of the landscape was beyond comprehension as the ice stacks tumbled off into the distance. Being able to get up close to the icebergs are they drifted out via the lagoon and washed back to the black sand beach was a moment of reflection. Featuring Timberland rucksack.
