In Le Havre (Upper Normandy, France), there are many small wooden houses placed on the beach. 2017 is 500th anniversary of Le Havre, and the wooden houses were painted into different colors, makes the city wounded by the WWII more colorful and joyful.

Etretat was one of the first locations I stopped at on my European trip in my self built campervan. There was a lot of tourists around and the sun was shining but the moment a grey cloud appeared, everybody jumped into the caves to the back of the beach. This gave me the opportunity to shoot this shot, lining the wet mark of the rock up with the sea on the horizon. Note the boat for scale!

For my birthday, we decided to go out of Paris on a roadtrip with my friend. We love exploring the countryside, every road is full of surprises. After arriving at the beach, my friend got her lunch stolen by a seabird (that was a very sneaky attack). Fortunately, the exploration and the view from the cliffs made her day afterwards. It was one of the greatest experience I had in a long time.

These are Phoenixes breakwaters, remains from the infamous Normandy landings during World War II. They were concrete caissons, brought across the English Channel in order to create the Mulberry harbours (temporary portable harbours to facilitate the rapid offloading of cargo onto beaches). They will be slowly eroded by the elements, until there is nothing left…
