Jökulsárlón is a large glacial lake in southern part of Vatnajökull National Park, Iceland. Situated at the head of the Breiðamerkurjökull glacier, it developed into a lake after the glacier started receding from the edge of the Atlantic Ocean.

About this picture
During my trip in Iceland I stopped at Jökulsárlón lake, it was quite early in the morning and even thought when I arrived I was almost alone, just a couple of minutes or so and crowds of people arrived.
However that blue. Never seen a blue so blue. There’s no picture in the world that can describe this amazing landscape.

Jökulsárlón
- I found myself in Jökulsárlón by means of a crappy orange Kia and two women I met online. I was ecstatic to be there. Kayaking through the icebergs had been a dream of mine since I found out about it two months earlier. Due to poor planning on my part, I wasn’t able to get a kayak in time. But the three of us boarded and amphibian boat and set off. The people in this photos are tour guides. Their job is to fish people who fall out of the boats from the (literally) freezing waters. They also grab chunks of glacier ice out of the water so tourists can take a closer look.

Jökulsárlón
- A beach I could spend hours and hours on (and I did ;)): The beach near Jokulsarlon glacier lagoon in Iceland, also called diamand beach (no explanation needed). While it’s beautiful to see these ice blocks getting washed back up on the black sand, it’s also heart-breaking to know that climate change is the reason behind the phenomenon.
