Kapadokya is a historical region of Turkey, located in the center of Turkey and east of the Anatolian Peninsula. In 1985, UNESCO included it on the list of protected World Heritage Sites.
It is a semi-arid region that is known for its characteristic fairy chimneys, large rock formations in the shape of cones present in the Valley of the Monks, in Goreme and elsewhere, and its villages with atypical architecture.
The region is unique in the world. The region was formed by three volcanoes, which have sculpted the area in a futurist way. Its ocher and powdery-colored lands contain true natural works of art.
