Its geographical location and history make it a place where it is possible to enjoy many types of recreational and cultural activities. It is located less than 30 kilometers west of Lisbon and is especially famous for its casino. It is this casino, one of the largest in Europe, that inspired Ian Fleming to write his first James Bond novel, "Casino Royale". The mild winters and warm, sunny summers make it an ideal seaside town, with one of its most beautiful beaches, Praia do Tamariz, being right next to the casino. Estoril has become so famous that the local coastal region is now called Costa do Estoril.
Tamariz Beach is located at the end of Estoril Casino Avenue. It was once frequented by high society when it was called the Elegant Beach. Its geographical location is very favorable, since it is in the center of the main services. For example, it is very close to the train line. The beach is very pleasant. You can also take advantage of the Atlantic swimming pool, which is located near the pontoon.
