With its 38 peaks over 3000 m, the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park has the largest number of glaciers in South Tyrol. Together with the Hohe Tauern National Park and the Zillertal Alps Nature Park, it is the largest nature reserve in Central Europe. Of all the parks in South Tyrol, the Rieserferner-Ahrn Nature Park has the most glaciers. The Rieserferner massif with its impressive peaks such as the Hochgall, Magerstein and Schneebiger Nock is the jewel of this nature reserve. Between the Reintal and Ahrntal valleys lies the Durreck massif and the Durreckspitze. The Dreiherrenspitze and Rötspitze are among the most impressive peaks of the Venediger Massif and offer breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. From Röttal to Knuttental or Wielental via Hasental, the authentic alpine pastures and picturesque valleys invite the hiker to explore the natural treasures of the reserve. Near Platten/Plata, the fairy chimneys shaped by erosion have strange forms. Clear lakes like the Antholzer See, mineral springs, roaring waterfalls like the Reinbachfälle and swamps like the Pürschtalmoos are evidence of the watery diversity of the nature park.
