I took this photo at sunrise on the one year anniversary of my friends suicide. He unfortunately took his life on the same beach I’m standing on.

My first time ever seeing these rare nearly all white deer in the wild. I spotted this one just before sunrise in the Pine Barrens in the middle of southern New Jersey. When I first caught a glimpse of it I thought it was trash on the far side of a lake. When I pointed the lens at it I quickly realized it was a piebald whitetail deer and a great looking one at that. The calm morning gave a nice reflection on the water. I watched this deer for maybe 2 minutes before it disappeared into the forest.

After delays and long lines at the airport, I was glad to finally have boarded the last flight of my month-long summer trip and could not wait to get this flight over with. As I opened the window shade, Mother Nature forced me to take my words back.

Walking through Brooklyn, I saw the same shot as seen in Once Upon A Time In America, and to my surprise, the Empire State Building lined up perfectly with the bridge. One of NYC’s best hidden gems.

In 2014, I took a trip to New York for the cliche and touristy site seeing ventures. On a foggy day, we went to the Statue of Liberty. Trying to create various angles, I stood just a bit off to the side and tilted my camera upwards. After a handful of shots, and shifting the camera’s angel, I saw an airplane in the top left corner of the frame. It appeared and disappeared within the clouds. So, in hopes that I could perhaps capture it near the statue, I took a bunch of photos. Then, this happened. Yes, it’s not perfectly centered between the crown, but still // a new angle on the same statue.

I have always wanted to capture the New York skyline but was never able to. This time I went early to the Brooklyn Bridge Park and sat down in the hopes of getting that shot. As you can see, I was lucky enough to get this beautiful shot of this awesome city.

When the sun started to go down there was a big cloud blocking the show. I turned around and started walking up this bridge. I was trying to get a picture of some ivy against a wall when I made it 3/4 the way up that bridge. I turned around and saw the sky open up and turn a golden purplish color. This was one of the coolest sunsets I’ve ever seen.

While this is a picture thousands of people had taken, I was working just on the Brooklyn side of the Brooklyn Bridge and so I took my camera and tripod with me and took this image.

This is one of the best places to view the sunset in New York City. Over on the Brooklyn side in Dumbo is this cove that offers views of the Brooklyn Bridge, Jane’s Carousel and the Manhattan Skyline.

I was in New York for a friends birthday and as we walked along the water next to Jane’s Carousel, I saw these two girls sitting here eating ice cream and chatting and it felt very classic.

Set my tripod on the edge of the river and waited for the sun to go down. The lights of the city really make the skyline sparkle at night.

The sun was just coming up and I was taking pictures from the Empty Sky Memorial in Jersey. I like the way this picture has a gentle morning feel about the sky with the bustling city just coming into life beneath.

This shot was taken on my first trip to NYC late last summer. Brooklyn was near the top of my list of places to check out while I was there. I loved the architecture in this area, it seemed that every corner you turned was filled with another picturesque city street (but maybe that was just the awe of experiencing NYC for the first time hitting me full force). We walked around for hours, exploring as many shops and streets and alleyways as we could before the light started to fade. We hung out in Empire Fulton Ferry Park watching the lights of the financial district slowly come on.

I was looking for a famous pizza shop and had just crossed the Brooklyn Bridge on foot. When I got off the bridge this was the first thing I saw.

One of the coldest days I have ever experienced. Sunny, below freezing and the wind must have been blowing 50 mph through lower Manhattan. As we exited the 9/11 Memorial, I had to capture this image of the Freedom Tower, frozen in time.

Traveling from Central America, the first impression of the big apple was two things gather in this pictures, skyscraper and surveillance, it was great to be in NYC, but I couldn’t ignored how this two things can make the first impression.
