On the east side of Lake Pend Oreille near Sandpoint Idaho, there are several large housing subdivisions, with large lots. The Idaho Fish and Game has made them no hunting areas for the homeowners safety. This guy was walking thru the neighborhood, following a doe, in the middle of hunting season without a concern except catching up to that doe.

This iconic rock structure is located just north of Sandpoint, ID. It is reached by a rough, dirt road which ends near the base of the rock. This photo was taken from a location on that road.

Our monthly project for the camera club in Sandpoint, Idaho was called ” Blurry Water “. Using a variable Neutral Density filter, the resulting much slower shutter speed caused the moving water to blur. This was actually on Sand Creek, under some overhanging trees. It was such a peaceful spot anyway and when I saw the photo, I thought of meditating.

We arrived at about 5am, unsure if we even reached the right area. Walking for a very short distance we reach the infamous lake. We take a seat and wait for the sun to rise all while taking in natures beauty.

My husband and I were exploring the trail to Hidden Lake in West Glacier, when we spotted a ridge line to our right. We knew it was the perfect spot to wander off the beaten path. We scaled up steep loose rock, boulders tumbling beneath our feet, and followed the mountain’s curves up a more solid incline until we came to a giant rock. It was the mountain’s vertical boundary for us, since crampons were needed to scale any further up into the slick summer glacier slush. Sensing the perfect photo op, my husband hopped up on the rock, dark cliffs looming behind him and this view in front of him.

The most beautiful sight I have ever seen after the hardest hike I have ever done. Remote spot in the heart of Glacier National Park.

I was sitting on the shores of Flathead Lake in Montana, and the water was crashing in a way that made my soul come alive. I wanted to get as close to it as possible, because there was so much beauty in every little drop of water.

We had just enough time on our drive from Los Angeles to New York to do one hike in Glacier National Park. We decided on the Avalanche Lake Trail and we did not regret it. It surpassed my expectations.
