A last minute drive to Blackchurch Rock in Devon resulted in cracking sunset lighting up the cliff faces. We could barely walk after the 3 hour drive in a Land Rover Defender and got home at 2am, but totally worth it.

One the shore of the Loughor River that divides Swansea in Llanelli in south Wales. A bitterly cold day, but excellent light and what a view! The mountains are a challenge on any day, but not this day, they came out so clear.

The mysterious lighthouse of the Gower. A place for ghosts? Maybe. When I was there, I had to move like a ghost around there. The tide was rising and the beach was 15 minutes away. I made it easily as I checked the tide hours. But if you go there, be careful and always give yourself enough time to escape, before one of the highest tides of the world reach you.

We spent a morning trying to find a waterfall, but without any joy, so made other plans. At the end of the very full day we were tired and just wanted to head back to our holiday home, but spotted a sign on the way back which featured the word waterfall. We stopped and did a bit of research, and realising it was only 10 mins walk from the nearest car park, we headed out to find it. We were not disappointed. Even though we were in the middle of the second hottest summer on record (and so there was less water flowing) the waterfall was stunning. This was taken from behind the waterfall. Magical!

This was taken at about 5am as the sun rose over Llyn y Fan Fach in the Brecon Beacons National Park, Wales. We wild camped the night before a few metres from this spot.

Storm season in the UK makes for tricky shooting conditions with a drone. I sought shelter from Storm Atiyah here in December 2019, and hugged the cliffs of the Jurassic coast in an attempt to hide from the wind to shoot a panoramic set.

I shot this while out with my mate Baz and his drone. He was filming the sunset across the river with his drone and I was shooting long exposure landscapes. When I looked up and saw the drone blocking the sun I grabbed a quick snap.

Beer is a small fishing village located in East Devon on the Jurassic Coast. With the fishing boats sitting right on the beach, it’s a great place to find colour even on the most overcast of days.

A photograph from Sheepstor, Dartmoor that I took from the tor opposite. It’s a great spot that overlooks Burrator reservoir and most of Plymouth. Not too hard on the legs either!

I spent a good 2 minutes staring at this scene, thinking it looked oh-so-familiar, when it dawned on me that it's the setting for the film Hot Fuzz. Yarp!

I went to visit my daughter who lives on the outskirts of Bristol, specifically for the annual Bristol Balloon Fiesta and the Nightglow, when the hot air burners and turned on and off to music. A great spectacle.

I volunteer for a mental health organisation and was meant to be meeting one of their service users who I’m helping out. We had planned to go on a photo walk but unfortunately, they didn’t show. I decided to take a few shots anyway and wanted to get some practice shooting buildings.

I was wondering around the boat workshop along the harbour, and liked the colours of these two boats, with all the ropes and the smaller boats in the background.

This is a street I’ve taken photos of many times during the day when I’ve been out shooting, but this is the first time I walked past at night, and I caught just as a figure walked underneath the boulevard sign. Will have to pop back again!

A lovely tranquil, sunny day on the Dorset coast, I spotted these two paddle boarders on a calm sea, with nothing around them. It looked so peaceful.

It was a warm summer morning when I was out on the beach not too far from my Mum’s house. It was so calming at peaceful having the beach to myself, apart from the sea snails and limpets in the picture that is! I feel that this photo really captures the calm that pre-dawn always brings, as well as the beauty of the sea looking misty and eerie with the long exposure.

This house was such a long way off it was a challenge to see the details. Out came my camera and I was able to capture this amazing sight. The sun was baking hot and the view could not have been better. I want to live here… in the summer months of course. ;-)

I was visiting Wales for the first time and a friend of mine, Steve brought me to visit the beach, along with his dog Muffins. Since we couldn’t bring Muffins to play at the usual beach, we brought him to the dog beach right next to it. After playing for half an hour with his favourite tennis ball, it was time to go home. Just as we were walking back Muffins took his tennis ball and ran up a small hill, gazing to the sea and enjoying the wind. It was a lovely evening, with a lovely photo to remind me of the simple enjoyments in life.

I think this was the historic servant entrance to a manor house in Bath, England. But I loved that whoever used it most adorned it with the prettiest red flowers along a perfectly aged stone stairway. Love this image. Shot on 35mm film, Canon A2E.

We were just leaving Berkley Castle in Wales. As we were walking by the trees, this cat was just sitting on a rock minding it’s own business and looking around.
