Went to Drop My rod bag off with Jayne at the Dairy Barn Ingham, did her websites for years - never met in the flesh. My daughter made herself at home. Took this pic. Right outside her house. OS Grid Ref SK947834

Im a student, I live in London 9 out of the 12 months so when I visit home, there is no better feeling than breathing the fresh air and exploring my surroundings. Ashby Ville is a lake which took the life of one of my close friends when I was younger, the council took action and made the area safer and more environmentally friendly, it was great to explore the new land.

An inquisitive tree lover from my local park gardens. Probably on the hunt for snacks but only finding photos. I love the longing look into the mid distance pose I managed to direct.

We took a walk in Bradgate park, Leicestershire to try out a new camera. The park is an enclosed deer park where the deer can roam free. The path ran along side some ferns, and as we reached it, a we saw a deer disappear into the greenery, with only it’s antlers showing. We moved in line with the deer, hoping it would look up, but only when my wife started making noises with her mouth did we get it’s attention. It looked up, and straight at us, and with full zoom I managed to capture a few pictures before it ran away. I love the colours in this shot, and how the ferns frame the deer’s head.

I was speaking at a conference during the evening and arrived at Peterborough mid-afternoon. My Mum, who is in her 80’s had mentioned to see the cathedral, if I had time. I was not disappointed and the £3 filming fee was well worth it. An amazing cathedral with some fascinating history.

I remember seeing a picture like this a long time ago. I knew at that point that I would have to go and experience it for myself one day. After some research, it turns out that if you wait until the end of the Summer the sun sets right at the top of the valley resulting in this magnificent sunset! I still feel like the picture doesn’t even do it justice!

I love this photo as it brings back many great memories. My camera (a Canon 400D) doesn’t have a flip screen, so to create these shots this low down on water, I simply had to wade my way out to a stream on the beach, hang my camera by my knees so my fingertips just trail the water, blindly take a few shots and hope something great arises.

Managed to get this shot about halfway through my hike the other day. I peaked the trail I was on to discover a deserted reservoir, not a person in sight. Ended up jumping the wall surrounding it to shoot some stuff, resulting in this image. Luke.x

So, this is during my university life. I had planned to capture light trails in Manchester since a long time. One night after dinner, a week before I was returning to my home country for summer break I suddenly decided to hit the road for light trails. For me it’s not about the end result always, it’s more about the process. Because the process he’s you to the destination and that’s not only in photography but in life everywhere.

My grandfather was a choral scholar at this collage before WW2. He sat in the seat you can’t quite see on the in the far right corner, right beside the organ pipes. I grew up in Cambridge and whenever we had visitors from out of town, we took them here and I’d feel closer to my grandfather (who died when I was about 18). I tried for a long time to take a picture which showed it off to it’s full majesty, and this is as close as I’ve ever got! If you get the chance to visit, you really should.

Last week, I got married! Straight after, the wife and I headed up to Whitby to enjoy each other’s company. I went for a walk one morning, and was met by glorious early sunshine. As I sat down on the pier, taking in the picturesque North Yorkshire views, I felt happier than I have in a long, long time. This picture really sums this feeling up for me, and I love how the grey of my trainers are bathed in sunlight against the turquoise sea.

After a 7 mile walk around the beautiful Gisburn Forrest in the Forrest of Bowland we were against the clock. The winer sun was setting fast and so we knew we had to take a shortcut through, what looked like, a disused track back to our car We stumbled across an old pine forrest that had been hit by a massive storm only a couple of years ago. Everything was perfect, the sun just landing on the horizon, the temperature dropping to 0c and even Wally our dog not running through shot. Amazing what you find off the beaten path

Recently I headed to Colchester Zoo, Essex, UK for an experience day that my mum was booked into. It was one of the weekends that we had a fair bit of snow, so not many animals were out, but there wasn’t many people at the zoo either. Thankfully, these tigers were outside enjoying the snow and made for some really nice photos :)

The meerkat or suricate (Suricata suricatta) is a small carnivoran belonging to the mongoose family (Herpestidae). It is the only member of the genus Suricata.[3] Meerkats live in all parts of the Kalahari Desert in Botswana, in much of the Namib Desert in Namibia and southwestern Angola, and in South Africa - Wikipedia. Colchester Zoo has a really nice Meerkat enclosure. I think there’s about 15-20 living in it and they’re all incredibly active. This one saw me hanging about with my 100-400mm zoom lens and perched himself up high. Really fun animals, always great to photograph!

This Meerkat was obviously intrigued by my Canon 100-400mm lens as he didn’t move!

Walking along the river in Hampsted Heath public park found in London, a friend said it is her dream house, to have a view of the park and the river. I decided to capture that moment.

I love the RAF Red Arrows Display Team, who perform throughout the length and breadth of the UK during the Summer. There are nine Hawk Jets in the team, with each year, two new recruits joining the prestigious team. The practice throughout the Winter at RAF Acroteria in Cyprus. They perform amazing acrobatics, at speed of 600 miles per hour and within 6 feet of each other. This is The Corkscrew, where two of them spiral around the other seven. If you ever get an opportunity to see them, make sure you do!!

On a walk around the Granary Square/Kings Cross area of London, this building caught my eye - brand new and unused, it was nevertheless a striking colour especially matched against the bright blue sky.
