I had hiked up Uetliberg, a small mountain near Zurich, to capture the fall colors that I had seen covering the hillside. However, as I made my way further up the mountain, the forest became shrouded in fog, and a whole new side of the forest revealed itself!

This photo was taken during my business trip in Switzerland. I arrived on the first of August, the national holiday when Swiss celebrate the founding of the Swiss Confederacy. I went for a stroll to explore the surroundings of the hotel which lies on the Zugersee lake. The place was very quiet and almost scary, I could hear only my own footsteps on the wooden pier and splashes of water as the small waves gently touched the shore.

The Pilatus Railway is a mountain railway in Switzerland and is the steepest rack railway in the world, with a maximum gradient of 48% and an average gradient of 35%. The line runs from Alpnachstad, on Lake Lucerne, to a terminus near the Esel summit of Pilatus at an elevation of 2,073 m (6,801 ft), which makes it the highest railway in the canton of Obwalden and the second highest in Central Switzerland after the Furka line. At Alpnachstad, the Pilatus Railway connects with steamers on Lake Lucerne and with trains on the Brünigbahn line of Zentralbahn. (Source Wikipedia)

Me and my girlfriend woke up at 3.00 am to watch the sunrise on a mountain called Fürstein. We made it to the top just in time and we had a great 360° view of the bernese alpes.

This photo was taken at the top of the Niderbauen Kulm. That’s a mountain here in Switzerland. We stayed there to camp and enjoyed this beautiful sunset.

Picture of the Grosser Mythen mountain is Switzerland done during a snowshoe walk around the mountain. The mountain is basically a huge stone, almost no trees, and a nice contrast with the white snow.

Life is full of adventures. This image was created during one of my own adventures on the top of Fronalpstock in Switzerland. During the day thousands and thousands of tourists where passing by this spot. But the last chairlift was running at 5:30pm. Suddently the place became very quiet and calm. The fog started to clear up and reveal the two peaks. This image represents one of the most beautiful sunsets I ever saw.

Imagine you are above the fog. Seeing the sun set. Then you turn around and see this. A mountain summit peaking out of the fog and catching fire. Goosebumps all over your body. And a refreshing feeling of joy and thankfulness filling up your body. This is Switzerland. This I can call my home. I really appreciate that a lot lately.

The photo was taken in Euthal, Switzerland, early morning in December. All the week was snowing but that day the sun was shining. A nice fog was covering some part of the lake that was almost frozen.

Hiking in Haslital, Switzerland on a sunny afternoon. Because it was too bright and the mountains in the back were almost washed out I decided to change the pictures to black and white and punch the foreground.

…we said and even though it was already 11pm we loaded our gear into the grey VW Polo and drove home to a colleague with having in mind to probably shoot some timelapses on the way. The results became awesome and we got some sleep while our cameras clicked their lapses.

Had the opportunity to fly the drone around and snap some shots from above in Switzerland. I really love the scale the mountain towns can offer as they are surrounded by amazing peaks and ranges. The houses look so minuscule in comparison to the grand mountains.

We were wandering around Grindelwald aimlessly while we ran into this church. After looking around, I decided to pull the drone out and grab a few shots. The epicness of the Eigar, Jungfrau and Monch surrounding this church and town was amazing. I had never felt this much of a grand presence and feel blessed to have been able to experience this.

Ever gone to Switzerland? It’s a great place to just wander off somewhere and to get completely lost in the mountains. That is what we did here. This way you can sit and marvel at the Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau in total solitude.

After snapping some photos from the window room, I lied on the bed to rest my legs for a while. After 20 minutes, I saw the last rays of light coloring the top of the Jungfrau and could not help myself snapping more pictures while sitting on the bed.

Lauterbrunnen is situated in one of the most impressive trough valleys in the Alps, between gigantic rock faces and mountain peaks. With its 72 thundering waterfalls, secluded valleys, colourful alpine meadows and lonely mountain inns, the Lauterbrunnen Valley is one of the biggest nature conservation areas in Switzerland. J.R.R.Tolkinen hiked from Interlaken to the Lauterbrunnen Valley in 1911. The landscape later provided the concept and pictorial model for his sketches of the fictitious valley of Rivendell.

Even though we were surrounded by snow, it felt warm. The sun reflected and bounced off the snow to cover us in warmth. At this elevation in Switzerland, you feel almost in the clouds, it’s surreal. And yet, it’s a simple train ride to the top, no climbing gear needed.
