We were driving through the hills on Gran Canaria, trying to beat the sunset to the western beaches, when we rounded a corner and saw all this colour. We had to pull over on the roadside and stare at the sky for a while, and I shot some photos. I’m not sure I did justice to the incredible colour.

The time 8:45, the place Gran Canaria, the year 2014. Almost 3 years ago, I had just bought my Nexus 5 (yeah that Google phone) and was on a trip with my girl to Gran Canaria. We were on our way to Roque Nublo and we did a quick stop to admire the view from Degollada de La Yegua. That was long before I even considered buying a proper camera. Or uploading on Instagram.
