Travel guide of Elandskloof23 km from Elandskloof
At first light of day on the way to Oudtshoorn from Stellenbosch, we almost drove our car in the ditch seeing this incredible mountain range. We barely managed to stop on the roadside to take some quick snaps, risking our lives with trucks speeding by in the downhill part of the pass.

Nothing better than cooling down with a cocktail after a long day on the safari. Incredible view by the Del Aire Graffe resort pool in Stellenbosch, South Africa. After a surf session at Bloubergstrand beach with my brother, I saw one of the Ola carts that we were familiar with as kids. I grabbed my Canon and, being a typical warm, sunny Cape Town day, I set the ISO as low as it could go to make the blacks, shadows and soft red of the Ola branding really pop.

Just moved to Cape Town and wanted to try out my new ND filter on a Sony a6300. Wished for some more clouds but quite happy with how it came out. You can look at my Instagram account to follow the journey @dewet_w

A long exposure of the stream in Newlands Forest, Cape Town. I didn’t have my tripod but I was able to secure my camera in position with small rocks from the forest floor.

As usual, my friends and I were enjoying a wonderful sunset surf on the beauty that is Cape Town’s beaches. We had ventured eagerly to Melkbos on the west coast, a small coastal village lively with passionate fisherman and surfers. Unbeknownst to me, the sunset that evening would be one of the most brilliant, inspiring ones we had ever seen - I had to capture it. This picture never fails to vividly remind me of the feeling I experience while out in the ocean, the feeling I live for. Completely calm, free and alive. No worries, No struggles. Just me and the ocean. What more could I ask for?

After 2 hours climbing the famous Lion’s head in Cape Town I took this shot using a tripod on long exposure mode. The mix of city, sea and mountains makes this town very unique. Definitely worth climbing.

A gorgeous sunset appeared after biking to the lighthouse near my aunt’s house. This is the beauty of Cape Town, South Africa. What struck me most was that my aunt and uncle were almost unfazed by it, as though they’re surrounded by nature like this (which i guess they are).

I heard some fireworks going off at the Cape Town stadium during a live music concert and managed to get my camera out in time to shoot and long exposure of the celebrations.

everyday down the hallway of my little flat, i get to watch a golden sheen peak between the range, leaving the valley under a soft glow, it’s calm after a hectic day, it calms. - you really don’t need much or need to be much to be outside appreciating nature

A summer sunset view of Cape Town's famous Table Mountain showing the "tablecloth" clouds that form when warm air moving up the slopes meets with the colder air at the top.

Last Christmas we spent almost a month in Cape Town. One eventing, around 7PM, we took the cable car up to the top of Table Mountain to enjoy the sunset. The picture is a long exposure showing the Twelve Apostles covered in clouds. I really love how the bright colors of the sky are reflected by the clouds.

A spontaneous hike resulted in meeting fellow photographers in Cape Town. We got to see this spectacular view of Lions Head in Cape Town while the sun set on a beautiful winters evening in Africa!

While the rest of Cape Town was still asleep, a few of us adventure seeking folk maximised the moment catching the sunrise from the top of Lionshead Mountain. In this long exposure shot of the iconic Table Mountain, you can see the smoke from a wild fire at the top of the slope.

We drove around to some of the small towns surrounding Struisbaai today. This particular one is called Elim - interesting fact is that all the roads in this town lead to the Church that founded the town! So cool right?!

A freedive in my backyard had me looking out into an endless ocean. The closest land mass from this point is Antarctica, and this scene represented the Atlantic ocean perfectly to me. an endless rough ocean, with bits of life making its way over the oceans highway.
