On the way back to my residence from a morning of surfing at the beach of Matadouro I had to capture the quietness of the streets in Ericeira. It was one of the most interesting places I’ve discovered in Sintra, it’s a deserted beach, mid way down you’re rewarded with this view and when you reach the sand you’re alone, you don’t hear any human noise. It’s amazing.

My wife and I joined a tour of Sintra in Portugal. The tour guide drove us to a beach for a glimpse of the ocean. Unfortunately, the ocean was completely invisible because of thick fog. Families, however, still managed to gather behind a selfie stick and smile.

This shot was taken in a cold winter day, with clear blue sky and powerful waves, in one of the most popular beaches in Lisbon - Carcavelos Beach. Despite of the low temperatures, these three young men chose to ride the waves and have a good time together, away from the rest of the world. As a nature lover myself, I admire those who still enjoy spending time outdoors in valuable way, connecting themselves with others as well as the world around.
