I celebrated my birthday with my family in the island called Isla Reta. There are plenty beautiful beaches or islands in Samal area here in Davao, Philippines; but as we decided on going, at first, we didn’t planned where we’ll go. As we were on our way to the island, it was raining badly and this is why the photo has some particle effect going on, t’was because of the rain. I was so excited to take cool photos while enjoying the sun but it didn’t go as planned. Still this photo looks great though. The photo makes me feel calm. It’s nice to have a break and away from all city distractions.

While walking to the very ends of Daku Island off the south coast of Siargao Island in the Philippines. Everyone else in our small group stayed up on the hill and couldn’t be bothered to walk to the end of the island, but I am too curious not to look. And I’m so glad I did! Because as I reached the end of the track leading to the cliff side I spied this tiny little secluded cove. No idea how to get to it without a boat, but I felt like I’d struck explorer gold! I love the soft colours and pop of turquoise in this photo.

One of my favorite things to do in the Philippines was island hopping. Either through a guided tour or paying a privately hired boat by the docks, one is able to see the surrounding smaller islands around the various mainland islands the Philippines has to offer. In the coast of Siargao, there are three main islands - Daku, Guam, and Naked Island (featured here). Naked island as the name implies is simply just a sandbar standing on its own. It was probably my favorite island of the three since it is the most unique.

In the small surf island of Siargao, Philippines, there is a natural swimming pool that only occurs in low tide. Once the ocean recedes due to the lunar pools, a crystal blue and green hue pool emerges. Tourists and locals alike come to cliff jump into the clear water and enjoy the afternoon under the sun. I got the chance to ride a scooter to the pools and experience it myself. It was as clear as I had read in the travel blogs and as blue as the sky.
