It was 5:00 am in the morning when i took this picture. We set up our tent the night before, close to Myrland (Nordland) - a beautiful coast in the mid part of Lofoten. It was breathtaking. That atmosphere, the loneliness, feeling the warmth of the sun on your skin. It really lets you forget anything else around you.

We were need of an emergency Airbnb on the Lofoten Islands, but we arrived there so late we couldn’t check out our surroundings. The next morning we realised we had found a really typical Norwegian fishing village, which was nice.

It’s hard to wrap one’s head around the real size of mountains and to realize the rock faces come straight out of the ocean. People in the frame give us an idea how massive they really are and put things into perspective!

Under the bridge as the Red Hot Chili Peppers would say was a good spot to capture this angle of Hamnøy in Lofoten Islands from the ocean level all the way up to the peaks, these big differences make the hikes tough

This image was taken on the first night camping in the wild of the Lofoten and I could not have been luckier. Veinestinden offers one of the most spectacular views on the whole islands. After the clouds vanished, they gave way to beatiful golden light breaking through. A truly breathtaking moment.

This is the aurora from Flakstad beach on the Lofoten Islands. You do have to be pretty lucky to have clear skies and aurora in March but we got lucky!! The exposure was 30 seconds with the camera on a tripod just above the ground, dodging the incoming waves on the beach to try and get some reflection off the wet sand. The Lofoten Islands are one of the most amazing places on earth. A photographers paradise :-)

This has to be one of the best views I have ever seen. The hike was so much fun across different terrains, and the views from the top were spectacular, with ever changing weather and the occasional burst of sunlight casting warm tones on the land.

On our fourth day in the Lofoten Islands we climbed Ryten mountain overlooking Kvalvika Beach. A 2 hour hike turned into a 5hr trek through snow reaching our knees. All worth it getting to the top!
