When you think about north Norway, fisherman, lonely house in the country side that’s what you picture. Stereotype but still impressive how peaceful this place was, quite at the sunrise.
While we were chasing the sunrise on a beach in north Norway the moon was still up which gives a really scenic view with the typical norwegian houses next to the water.

I took this picture whilst waiting early in the morning for the ferry from Moskenes back across to Bodø. The sun was not yet up and the snow was still thick on the ground.

This is the classic Lofoten Islands shot but I’m not ashamed of taking it because the sea, sky and mountains are always different throughout each day. This was early evening in late March, there was still plenty of snow around and the evening light was magic. You should visit the Lofotens it’s utterly amazing.

Near Reine, Norway the Eliassen Rorbuer overlooks Moskenesøya. This is just one of many tiny fishing villages between the Lofoten Islands which is a fantastic place to eat or sleep while visiting the Arctic Circle.

Fishing 🐟 is the main activity here in Lofoten and picturing the red houses was on my to-shoot list. Red houses because of the history it’s based on cost, esthetics and social status reasons. Back in the days red was for barns in farms, cheap building but now it just looks gorgeous with the landscape. ⛰

We know the rain forest but what about “Reine forest”, used random plants as a frame to shoot the mountain above Reine and Hamnøy in Lofoten Islands during the sunset to get this soft pinky sky

During a very rainy day, unable to climb any of the mountains surrounding Reine, we went out for a little roadtrip and, just as we returned, the clouds ripped open for a few minutes when we stopped in Hamnøy to take some pictures. A massivel assault of rain got me seconds after this photograph was captured. I didn’t make the ten metres back to the car without getting soaked to my underwear.

On a dock in Hamnøy using the woody frame towards a peak during the sunset, liked the shot and the frame cause it defines the proximity between the fisherman villages and the hikes in Lofoten Islands.

This is the tiny island of Andøya, photographed from just across the water on Reine. If you haven’t heard about the Lofoten Islands already then check them out on-line and you’ll see that they’re eye-popping and wonderful. This picture was taken with a Canon 100-400mm macro borrowed from Chris H (thanks Chris). It’s a big, heavy but awesome lens. Something I’m saving for.

Munken hike, all the way up, got my eye on the magnificent rock layers. You can’t see the end of this peaks it was like being lost in a mountain maze, breathtaking feeling in Lofoten

If we are talking about tough hike in Lofoten it’s because you go up very fast, on our way down I’ve realised how high we were when you see the clouds visitings the peaks next to us.

After a tough 4 hours hike in Lofoten Islands called Munken we managed to catch the sunset on the islands peaks, amazing experience which makes the view worth the effort.

Munkebu hut hike is a must do, it is literally like climbing stairs to the Valhalla going from a mountain lake to another and another to this typical Norwegian hut.
