Travel guide of Wharariki RoadWalking around Wharariki beach lends a sense of wonder and scale. One of the best beaches I have ever visited.

After a 3 hour drive we pulled up to the carpark on a warm summers day; birds chirping and wind blowing. A short walk through a picturesque scenery brings you to smooth, golden sand dunes. With each breath of wind every grain of sand dances out its emotion. Once across the sand dunes you’re met with towering prehistoric rocks formed over thousands of years. Every powerful wave slowly carving its on footstep on the giant rock. With the sun setting & the baby seals playing in the rock pools; I set up my camera. This image will allow me to reflect on this perfect day full of amazing memories.

This photo was taken at the beach in my hometown. I love this place for both aesthetic and sentimental reasons. The ocean at sunset is my absolute favourite and this shot is no different. The bokeh is a result of a wave splashing with the glow from the setting sun hitting the surface. Magic.

My style of photography is different. I have combined my love of soft focus, shallow depth of field, the water &the colour blue to come up with this series of photos. This photo was taken waist deep in the water with a wave nearly completely taking out my camera as I held it near the surface. The bigger the risk the better the result.

Taken from above a short distance from where I grew up in Nelson, New Zealand. In the distance is the start of the famous ‘Boulder Bank’, the longest of its kind.

A view out towards Cable Bay from Glenduan at sunset. The colors aren’t as vivid as I’m facing away from the sun… however I love the soft tones that you can get with this perspective.

We were driving between Havelock and Nelson on New Zealand’s South Island. A storm was blowing in and I got soaked stopping the car to get a shot of this beautiful boat - couldn’t resist.
