The typical Italian Gothic building, the Cathedral of Florence, is dedicated to “Santa Maria del Fiore”. The church was designed by Arnolfo di Cambio (c1245-1302) who considerably enlarged the existing religious structure. Finished around 1367, the Cathedral was completely covered by coloured marbles like the earlier Baptistery, except for the façade that remained unfinished and was terminated only in the 19th century. - www.museumsinflorence.com

On a trip to Florence, had a chance to capture this from the top of the Duomo, overlooking the city. The trip up the stairs to the top is not a simple one but the view is well worth it.
The cathedral includes the famous Il Duomo, the world’s largest freestanding dome without a supporting wooden frame. Started in 1420 and completed in 1436, it was created by the architect Filippo Brunelleschi.
This picture was taken from the gardens in the heights of Florence. This is probably one of the most peaceful place I know right in the middle of a city : this view is just amazing 😎

During a roadtrip, we stopped to enjoy the beautiful view of the hills in Tuscany. I took several shots of the landscape, and I thought that the pure nature photos would be the best ones. Midnight. We were on the way back from Piazza San Marco. As we zig zagged through the endless maze of bridges that is Venice, I looked across and everything lined up. The moon was aligned right at the centre of the canal. Just as I pressed the shutter, a speedboat buzzed down the lane. I hesitated for a moment before pushing down on the button.
