Ballycotton is a small fishing village in County Cork, Ireland. I travelled there from my home about 30 minutes away to photograph the dawn.

The Old Head of Kinsale is a headland near Kinsale, County Cork, Ireland. An early lighthouse was established here in the 17th century by Robert Reading. The area is the nearest point of land to where the RMS Lusitania was sunk in 1915.

Gougane (pron: “goo- gawn) Barra is in West Cork, Ireland and the name is derived from Saint Finbarr who is reputed to have built a monastery in the island in the foreground in the 6th century. It is a beautiful place and it exudes a sense of calm and relaxation. This, of course, is a drone shot (Phantom 4).

These rocks, on Ireland’s Copper Coast, are nearly 500 million years old. Sharp edges of ancient strata, that hold the story of life before even the dinosaurs roamed our planet.

Ireland’s Copper Coast is littered with various rocks and formations, almost half a billion years old. Perfect for clambering over and playing hide and seek with an active 2-year-old.

It was much less expensive to wander around these Abbey ruins than pay for the very expensive reconstruction project of the Rock of Cashel at the time. But I much prefer the mystique of a good ruins, especially when there are great shadows.

The rocks at Kilfarrasy Beach always seem like another planet, whatever the tide. Here the tide was out, and laid bare Waterford's famous Copper Coast.

When I went from Dublin to the South-East of Ireland I didn’t expect to hike about 32 kilometres in only that one day. I really have to say that I missed a proper walk at the beach the last eight weeks I lived in Ireland. There is a major difference between a cliff walk and a beach walk in my eyes. Feeling the sand slipping away underneath my feet gives me a really special feeling. Adding this beautiful view to that it was simply fantastic.

The Ring of Kerry has some of the most beautiful countryside I have ever seen. My wife and I visited Ireland for our honeymoon, and we were lucky enough to spend two nights in Killarney. This photo was taken during a walk we took around Muckross Lake, not far from our hotel. I’m not sure which was more awesome, the view of the lake and surrounding mountains, or the fields full of wild red deer to our backs in this photo.

Clambering around the precarious cliffs in Dunmore East, one of Ireland’s prettiest fishing villages, I came across this eerie set of cast iron railings from the industrial age. Built to guide intrepid walkers before the advent of more cautious health and safety guidelines. The railings now serve as a series of strange markers, inviting you into the dark Irish Sea.

Puffin Talk on Saltee Island Great, one of my favourite spots on earth. See this picture also on Unsplash or in my categorie Birds. The Saltee Islands are a pair of small islands lying 5 kilometres off the southern coast of County Wexford in Ireland. The two islands are Great Saltee (89 hectares) and Little Saltee (37 hectares). Both have been privately owned by the Neale family since 1943.
