Landmannalaugar, Iceland - one the most beautiful places in Iceland. The drive to this place via the F-Roads, the sceneries, the numerous lakes, snow capped mountains, etc… all of this just adds fuel to the fire.

Hiking to extremes on Iceland’s Laugavegur Trail Hiking in Iceland evokes a sense of freedom that reaches an unparalleled magnitude. As you follow hiking trails flanked by bold rock formations and purple Arctic flora, you realize that Iceland’s mighty nature stands before you, unaltered by humans, just as it has for thousands of years.

Midnight walk to the lake in Icelandic highlands. Taking a picture of myself again....after running down to the lake in those 10sec that i had with time triger. I put a bit exposure up and contrast. The picture has also hdr over, because lifting shadows didnt do much, since it is a very dark picture to start with. Picture looks a bit magical, but reality was also nice that evening

Went exploring a bit into the highlands, when i found a spot to park…walked around and got this shot. At the back you can see a glacier which comes from eyjafjallajokull . That is the volcano that erupted in 2010 and set Iceland back on map for a while. Not everybody liked that since they were stranded on airports :)

This hidden majesty was captured deep inland on the southern part of Iceland. You have to take a 4x4 road for about 10 miles. Once you reach jagged parking lot, you can hear the raging water flowing down, crashing against the rocks below. Haifoss is the second tallest waterfall in Iceland. Do not miss out on it’s beauty.

Floki the fox legend returns. This one has been missing since 2016 march. Happy to see he made it thru summer. One of the first pictures i posted here was from him last year (2015). He hangs around another hut in the valley, but in winter nobody is staying there, so he pays me a visit …until other foxes chase him away

A nice evening with a set of mild northern lights. The moon was full , so it illuminated the background nicely. Unfortunately for it the northern lights were less visible....but just enough to make a composition like this :)

Before we went to Iceland we had seen impressive photos of a canyon south of Vik called Fjaðrárgljúfur. Looked really interesting so we decided to go and see what it is all about. And yes, Fjaðrárgljúfur was really breath taking. You need to make a stop here if you are in the area.

Strolling down the canyon. It was midnight and auroras were bursting, but i was stuck in the canyon, so i tried to make as much use as i can from the position where i was. The idea fell on my mind to light the sides with the torches and another selfie came out :)

A winter hike into the stakkholtsgja canyon. This one was taken in middle of january 2018. It is the same canyon i used for the night photo with two torches i was just positioned a bit lower in it. Beginning of this canyon was also used exactly a year ago for a short scene in game of thrones, where they capture the undead guy. This time it is not me standing but my dear coworker, who i photographically abused, so that i can deliver you this photo :)

We went to Iceland in February to visit the land of ice and fire in the winter - ice caves, glacier walks, northern lights and hot pots under snow. Unfortunately 2017 has been so much warmer than normal - as warm as April or May usually are - that glaciers are melting away at unprecedented rates. The distance between where the photo was taken and the glacier has doubled in less than 12 months.

I came to the glacier at 5 am when and found no traces of life except for an old yellow school bus used as an office for a local tour company. Signs “Do not go without a helmet and ice cleats” couldn’t stop my inner adventurer. So I went alone. I went pretty far and the terrain started looking more and more intimidating. If you fell in a crack, you’re done. After getting a good number of pictures, I turned back and successfully got out of there carrying a good amount of pics and memories.

What seems like floating up in the air, is just the light effect that the torch does, reflecting from the water. I was standing also on a rock in the middle of a water stream. Picture was taken at midnight in a canyon. There is a small glimpse of green up in the sky, those were the auroras that were outside the canyon

Visited the stunning Skógafoss, in the south of Iceland. Waited for quite a while to be able to capture this shot without any other tourists in the frame. To this day, one the best travel memories.

Coming home from Switzerland I stopped in Iceland for 24 hours, I hopped into a landy and drove out to a couple of the most famous waterfalls between 2 and 7 am. I had the whole place to myself and it was amazing. Dark, cold, rainy, and perfect.

I took this picture during my trip in Iceland, near by a hotel I spent the night. We could see the Eyjafjallajökull volcano near by. I remember I smiled at this basketball court, wondering if anyone ever played here :D No hoop ! But it was special and the sunset here was so beautiful !

After walking for 45 minutes through horizontal snow and driving wind, we finally saw the shape appear of the whiteness. In this alien and martian landscape there is now color, simply the black sand of the beach and the white of the snow.

This plane wreck was in my bucket least since I started using Instagram. Insta folks love it don’t you? So it’s a US Navy DC plane that crashed on the beach because someone forgot to fuel up the tank (actually switch over to the wrong tank).

On our way to the DC-3 plane wreckage site, there was a long stretch that we had to walk. In between shenanigans I started contemplating the landscape far out in the distance, after some minutes, the light started hitting the mountain in such a way that its reflection looked pink-red.
