There is a small way at Hármashatárhegy, from where you absolute have the possibility to shoot a compressed general view of the heart of Hunqary’s main town with a telephoto lens. I used my Canon 75-300mm on 300mm, which is a sensitive focal lenght: you have to find the place where wind can not shake the lens. You have to check the weather conditions, clearness only works under dry and fog-free conditions.

Republic vs Monarchy. Hungary has its history being a Monarchy for almost a thousand years, then we dropped the Kingdom from the name and picked up the Republic. On the left the Building of the Parliament was built at the beginning of the 20th century, on the opposite side of the Danube, looking straight up to the Buda Castle Hill, where the kings were before.

There is a now somehow abandoned park at the outskirts of Budapest called Olympic Park. At the top of the hill there is the olympic sign created from bushes. Nowadays it is hard to spot, but still you can if you know where to look.

August 20th is the greatest national holiday for Hungarians, celebrated with day-long festivities followed by spectacular fireworks throughout the country. August 20th commemorates the foundation of the Hungarian state, it’s like Hungary’s 4th of July. Also called as St. Stephen’s Day, remembering Stephen I, the first king of Hungary and founder of the Kingdom of Hungary, who was canonized on August 20th, 1083 by Pope Gregory VII. Festivities start in the morning with the raising of the Hungarian flag and continue on all day long, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the Danube.

This image features the parliament building in Budapest, Hungary. In the early summer months the ambient light from the sunrise begins around 4am offering a soft glow of light for an extended period of time. The orange sky and soft color of the water give me a sense of calmness and tranquility. Enjoy:)

While walking around the Buda Castle, I found this beautiful window covered by nature. I went during the winter and I assume that’s why It’s less green and it might be stunning during the spring. Somehow it resonated how I felt about the place and even how I felt about myself

It was the last day of our company trip before we flew back to our respective homes in different countries. A group of us decided to walk around the beautiful city of Budapest, and we went up a hill to get a bird’s eye view of the city. The hike was pretty tiring, but the view we were rewarded with was so worth it.

There were so many times when I found myself in a lucky position in Budapest. There were so many one-in-a-million shots that I never thought I would get. This was one of them. I was standing in the courtyard of the Buda Castle, taking photos of the Pest skyline below, when a flock of birds filled up the sky above.
