Body of water in Budapest, Hungary

August 20th is the greatest national holiday for Hungarians, celebrated with day-long festivities followed by spectacular fireworks throughout the country. August 20th commemorates the foundation of the Hungarian state, it’s like Hungary’s 4th of July. Also called as St. Stephen’s Day, remembering Stephen I, the first king of Hungary and founder of the Kingdom of Hungary, who was canonized on August 20th, 1083 by Pope Gregory VII. Festivities start in the morning with the raising of the Hungarian flag and continue on all day long, culminating in a spectacular fireworks display over the Danube.

Landscape in Tivadar, Hungary

Early in the morning, I wandered along the sandy beach of Tisza near to Tivadar when I bumped into these small plastic sandals. Most probably the owner left them there during the night, hopefully, they found them later the day.

Ecoregion in Elizabeth Lookout, Hungary

You know the feeling, when you feel that you need to take some pictures with your camera? When you are in the need to take pictures? Basically, this happened to me, and made my journey to the top of Budapests highest mountain. I found myself in a situation, that I am in love with the view from the top. I got my camera out of its bag, and started to take pictures. My best pictures are from that wonderful day. This photo just reminds me of that almost perfect day.

Landscape in Kelenföld, Hungary

During my regular walk back home I went by this poor guy lying on the street smoking a cigarette. He had this “cozy living room, an underground tunnel with a nice view to the other side of the street. He might have his own joke to the world, look at his cup, it says: “Who are you?.

Landscape in Százhalombatta, Hungary

I was on my way to find the right photo spot in the early afternoon. In winter it’s getting darker earlier so I had no too much time. It was my first time to take portrait photos and working with a model. I was a bit nervous but after I checked the pictures I felt pretty satisfied. This photo gives me relaxation which I wanted to represent. I feel at the end of the day I found what I was looking for. I found the moment, “I found you.

Body of water in Budapest, Hungary

This image features the parliament building in Budapest, Hungary. In the early summer months the ambient light from the sunrise begins around 4am offering a soft glow of light for an extended period of time. The orange sky and soft color of the water give me a sense of calmness and tranquility. Enjoy:)

Landscape in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary

I was shooting “night lapse in Mosonmagyaróvár, Hungary. Tried to compose as many wind turbines as can into my picture, but with a wide angle lens you are in trouble: if you step a bit back, every line gonna curve and lean as perspective distortes. So after a while I gave up on my original idea and walked direct under the turbine, then made this composition. What remembers me on a goddamn Saturn V Rocket. One small step for me, and even smaller for mankind, but believe me, it was a nice experience. The turbine is 110m high, the Moon and the stars give it a really spacy mood with 30 sec exp.

Architecture in Buda Castle, Hungary

While walking around the Buda Castle, I found this beautiful window covered by nature. I went during the winter and I assume that’s why It’s less green and it might be stunning during the spring. Somehow it resonated how I felt about the place and even how I felt about myself

Bridge in Hármashatárhegy, Hungary

There is a small way at Hármashatárhegy, from where you absolute have the possibility to shoot a compressed general view of the heart of Hunqary’s main town with a telephoto lens. I used my Canon 75-300mm on 300mm, which is a sensitive focal lenght: you have to find the place where wind can not shake the lens. You have to check the weather conditions, clearness only works under dry and fog-free conditions.

Landscape in Budapest, Hungary

It was the last day of our company trip before we flew back to our respective homes in different countries. A group of us decided to walk around the beautiful city of Budapest, and we went up a hill to get a bird’s eye view of the city. The hike was pretty tiring, but the view we were rewarded with was so worth it.

Landscape in Budapest, Hungary

There were so many times when I found myself in a lucky position in Budapest. There were so many one-in-a-million shots that I never thought I would get. This was one of them. I was standing in the courtyard of the Buda Castle, taking photos of the Pest skyline below, when a flock of birds filled up the sky above.

Landscape in Nyírbátor, Hungary

Near the South-West corner of the Calvinist Church in the Medieval Hungarian market-town Nyírbátor stands the unique 17th century Late-Renaissance wooden belfry, a masterpiece of Transylvanian joinery, which is the oldest and the largest of its kind in Hungary. Its shingled skirting and gallery give the impression of a bastion. With its artistic carvings it is a majestic piece of early-seventeenth century folk architecture.

Body of water in Budapest, Hungary

Republic vs Monarchy. Hungary has its history being a Monarchy for almost a thousand years, then we dropped the Kingdom from the name and picked up the Republic. On the left the Building of the Parliament was built at the beginning of the 20th century, on the opposite side of the Danube, looking straight up to the Buda Castle Hill, where the kings were before.

Watercourse in Budapest, Hungary

There is a now somehow abandoned park at the outskirts of Budapest called Olympic Park. At the top of the hill there is the olympic sign created from bushes. Nowadays it is hard to spot, but still you can if you know where to look.

Lake in Budapest, Hungary

The Long exposure shot of the beautiful parliament at Budapest, Hungary. It's hard to nail a long exposure picture from this vantage point as it always shakes/vibrates because of continous yellow Budapest public trams, so on a cold night, you wait when there is no traffic, and go for the shot.
