Sulkava Rowing is Finland’s biggest rowing event that has gathered at it’s best over 10 000 rowers to compete on a 60 km long route. This shot is taken in Sulkava too, however this particular rower isn’t competing. Just rowing and relaxing in a calm environment.

There are over 188.000 lakes in Finland, larger than 500 square metres (5,400 sq ft). As such, Finland is also known as ‘The Land of the Thousand Lakes’. It is believed that water, or fresh water to be precise, is going to be the most important natural resource of the country in the future - if not already. This picture is taken during midsummer in Sulkava, a part of the large lakeland district.

Skateboarding is more than a sport, it’s a way of living - a lifestyle. This shot is taken in eastern Helsinki, Finland, with a 10mm wide angle lens and supportive flash. Don’t fear the flash, as it sometimes can bring life, drama and depth to action shots :)

Dwarf mongooses run very fast, so taking a shot of them is very hard. Yet, this one jumped on the branch, stayed still so I could get a good shot.

Allas Sea Pool in Helsinki Finland offers wam outdoor swimming in every weather all around the year. It´s located right in the heart of Helsinki, besides the Market Square. Pools are floating in the sea. Besides the warm pool there is another one open in the winter too – the seawater pool! That´s as cold as it gets. After a swim you can chill out in the sauna and sip hot drinks in the cafe comfortably indoors.

During a rainy autumn-sunday in Helsinki, I saw this little guy during my walk in Seurasaari. Fearless as this little creature was, it let me pretty close with my camera.
