Town in Copenhagen, Denmark

It’s hard not to miss a man poking his head out of a window. It’s doubly hard not to miss him as he brushes his teeth. I suppose it is better than staring at the mirror. I wish I had a bathroom with a view.

Landmark in Eremitageslottet, Denmark

The Hermitage Hunting Lodge (danish: Eremitageslottet) is a small Royal castle in a large common, Dyrehaven, a couple of kilometers north of Copenhagen. I went there on an evening walk. It was pitch dark, so I had to make a very long exposure. Interestingly, the colors in the image turned reddish.

Camping in fyn, Denmark

As part of another Thrashville trip, we stopped off in a wooden shelter near the coast on the small island of Fyn, Denmark. After a long day of riding, we were cold to bone until this little baby warmed us up.

Ocean in Samsø, Denmark

A dark, almost black cloud suddenly emerged on the horizon as we were approaching Samsø, Denmark on a sunny summer day. Minutes later the sun disappeared, the rain smashed against my face and the wind speed tripled in a matter of seconds. All hands on deck! When we had regained control of our sails, I spotted a boat in trouble in the distant and took this photo. We made it safely to port, and the picture was forgotten. Half a year later, while battling a depression, I refound it and edited it as a way to express my feelings. I can only hope that the other sailors made it through as well.

Town in Nyhavn, Denmark

Copenhagen is known to be the World’s most bike-friendly city. A majority of its citizen ride their bikes every day, regardless of weather conditions. Snow & freezing temperature (see the snow covering the frozen canal) do not bother Copenhageners at all. The iconic Nyhavn gives a colourful backdrop to the somewhat miserable winter scene taken here.

Wildlife in Jægersborg Dyrehave, Denmark

I’m crazy enough to waltz into a deer park at 3am just to be alone with these beauties. Over the years I’ve learnt a few tricks when it comes to stalking deer in the park. Persistence is key - they will keep running from you - but use the wind to your advantage to cover as much ground as possible. When you run against the wind, especially if the leaves of the trees are rustling, they won’t hear you coming!

Abandoned as a baby, Almaz were adopted by a woman who owned a hotel and had a bit of money, in the otherwise poor Ethiopia. Cliff in Møns Klint, Denmark

A great friend and I went exploring the coastline at Møns in Denmark. We came across two painters who, like us, wanted to capture the vastness of these white, clay cliffs.

Road trip in Ørestad, Denmark

Ørestad, a city development district in Copenhagen, is divided in two by a highway going through the city center. I wanted to take an image showing the divide between the two parts of the city, and found a good spot on a bridge a couple of houndred meters away.

Dune in Blokhus, Denmark

A place I used to see every single time I visited Denmark is Blokhus. Although it might be crowded and touristy from time to time in summer it’s extremly enjoyable just to relax sitting in the dunes and watching the people and cars passing by at the beach.

Coast in Gedser Fyrvej 5, Denmark

Gedser Odde on the island of Falster in the Baltic Sea is Denmark’s southernmost point. The terminal moraine from Idestrup through Skelby to Gedser is part of the maximum glaciation line across Falster, from Orehoved to Gedser. Fronted by low cliffs, the ridge, 5–7 m (16–23 ft) high, continues underwater a further 18 km (11 mi) south-east to Gedser Rev. Sydstenen (the south stone) marks the southernmost point.

Shore in Ebeltoft, Denmark

Town in Nyhavn, Denmark
