Travel guide of BanffWe had just finished up our day out in the wilderness of banff, and we were driving back into town. traffic slowed a bit, and we wondered what was going on. As we seemed to get close to what was causing the delay, I happened to look out my window and see this beautiful buck casually grazing. Thankfully my camera was sitting on my lap, and while we were sitting there, I was able to snap this picture.

It was coming on the tail end of our North American road trip. Alberta was the final destination after driving up the Pacific Coast. As soon as we crossed from British Columbia into Alberta, this mother Grizzly and her cub were eating flowers beside the road. I had just bought a super zoom specifically for this trip and I’m so thankful I did. We pulled over on the other side of the road and we were dead silent - Knowing how bears can be. My first time seeing a Grizzly and my first time in Alberta.

I live in Alberta, Canada and Banff is a fairly close drive that takes about an hour from where I live. Banff is one of my favorite places to take photos since I go on many hikes in the area. This image of the mountain with the forest in front was on of those hikes during the summer.

After hiking the backwoods of Banff around Cascade Mountain, I found a nice little spot to hang my hat and pitch my hammock to take a nap in total solitude.

My father took this picture over 40 years ago. He was living in Canada after emigrating from Ireland and saw the country as a rich land full of opportunity.

driving along and saw a family of bears along the roadside. The mother bear seemed entirely unconcerned as I snapped this shot of her cub

This photo was taken while driving around Banff, Alberta. The curved road in the middle of those tall trees made it feel like we were getting deep into the woods. The Jeep was perfect for giving a better sense of scale on this shot.

I shot this photo from the peak of Sulfur Mountain in Banff. I love this perspective of downtown Banff right before dark.

I was so captivated by the lakes in Banff in the early mornings. The sky was so clear behind the mountains but there were clouds rolling in that allowed the sunrise to light the mountains with a little color. I was very lucky to be there at that moment.

First trip to the nature of Canada. i’m from Europe so this is pretty special for me especially at the age of 18. Even saw some bears, Canada has some really incredible nature. The nature wasn’t perfect but it made my photos look moody and i like that a lot. This was the first holiday i went on where i was into photography so it was amazing to explore the nature as well as the functions and every detail about my camera.

Exploring Banff national park lead us to the very famous Lake Louise where we then decided to take a trail up into the mountains and discover something truly special. The trail was called the Plain of Six Glaciers and took you high into the mountain valley.

As we were driving through Banff national park, we happened upon this small lake early in the morning. The mist was just burning off and the waters were so calm, they provided the perfect surface for a stunning reflection of the tree line.

On my way to Johnston Canyon in Banff when this guy poked its white face out in the blue. I had to drive a bit to find a safe place to stop and get out to take the picture, but I think it turned out ok. This is the kind of image that gives me pause and to reflect on the forces that created the rockies those millions of years ago. What a great way to time travel.

After a 6 mile hike to Big Beehive in Banff National Park turned into 13 miles, this was one of the last photos I took while strolling back along Lake Louise. We were coming around from the back of the lake around 8pm, tired and in awe of the blue water and the incredible mountains that towered over us. This one was all about the journey, but the destinations were pretty awesome too.

I was going on this trip up to Calgary and have always heard about the amazing views and beauty of Banff National Forest. When I arrived, it was way more than I could have expected. The views were breathtaking and this photo doesn’t even do a justice to what you will witness. This was in October and it is the perfect time to go. Not too cold and there are not too many people visiting the park, so makes for some epic landscapes. I highly recommend this place so that you can take in the beauty for yourself!

Icy walk at Johnston Canyon, shot on my Sony a7iii, with a Sigma 35mm f1.4. I just moved to Calgary and i've already been to Banff more times than I can count on my hand. This place is beautiful, and so relaxing. The views can't be beaten!

Beautiful lighting overlooking the Katherine Valley in Banff, Alberta, Canada. The geology is this area is fascinating – as demonstrated by the floral gap between foreground and background – and the photo was fittingly taken from Dolomite Pass.
