Caught this huge chunk of ice calving after an hour of watching Perito Moreno as it creaked, cracked and shifted right in front of us. Amazing place… one of my favorite spots in the world!

I travelled through Argentina by myself. Patagonia has been on my bucket-list for a long time. I visited different places in Patagonia and one of them is called El Calafate. This town is famous for the Perito Moreno glacier and I wanted to see and experience it with my own eyes. I wanted to do a special tour with which you hike on top of this glacier. I was so incredibly super pumped to do this that I had to take the perfect shot of this experience so I could remember it afterwards. So I abandon my group for a short while so they would be in the perfect spot to make the best photo possible.

Perito Moreno glacier in darkness, due to a lower exposure just when the light was hitting the nearer face of the glacier. Initially this was somewhat unintentional but after some post-processing I really like the way it draws attention to the ice, and the dark tones of the water.

Incredible as it may seem, the front of the Perito Moreno Glacier is 4 km and up to 70 meters high. This glacier is broken approximately every four years by creating a dam that separates Lake Argentino in two.
