The Hội An Wreck lies 22 miles off the coast of central Vietnam in the South China Sea, at 16.04°N 108.6°E approximately. Discovered by fishermen in the early 1990s, the Vietnamese government made several attempts to organise an investigation of the site but were confounded by the water depth of 230 feet.

Hoi An
- Hoi An is a treasure in Vietnam that few people know about. The entire ancient town once was the main trading port along the Thu Bong river and is a UNESCO site kept in pristine condition. The narrow alleys are filled with tea houses, silk shops, coffee shops, an assortment of food, and French colonial, Chinese, and Japanese architectural influence from its long melt-pot history. Visit for a day if you're staying in Danang about an hour north, but I recommend staying for a few nights to truly appreciate this time capsule.
