The Routeburn Track is a world-renowned, 32 km tramping track found in the South Island of New Zealand. The track can be done in either direction, starting on the Queenstown side of the Southern Alps, at the northern end of Lake Wakatipu or on the Te Anau side, at the Divide, several kilometres from the Homer Tunnel to Milford Sound.

About this picture
My older brother ended up getting married in Queenstown, New Zealand in 2015. At the time this picture was taken I was in-between jobs and uncertain as to what lay ahead for me and my family. The trip we ended up taking for the wedding turned into a month long trek across New Zealand that my heart desperately needed. I can't wait to go back here, heck I would move in a heartbeat. I guess I need to connect with a head hunter over there…

Routeburn Track
- During our two-week trip to New Zealand, we took three days to hike along the Routeburn Track. The first day, we were met with torrential rain, and the second day, we were met with heaps of snow. The hike was very difficult for those first two days, but the third day opened up with sunshine and peace. We came to an opening in the path, and were greeted to this sight: a huge valley with the Routeburn River in sight. We finally had a moment of peace after an arduous two days. I look at this photo, and I feel relief.
