About this picture
What seemed like a normal rainfall in July 2018 quickly developed into one of the heaviest hailstorms I ever saw. Within minutes, the yard was covered in white, branches cracked and our plants were destroyed. Temperatures where in the 20 degree celsius, so the ice started to evaporate quickly, leading to an autumn-like fog and mist. Also after the storm was over, we were compensated with this beautiful rainbow.

- On this morning I woke up to intense red light through my bedroom window. I knew what happened, and that I had to get out of bed instantly and photograph this scene. The sun rose over the horizon but there was some heavy mist over these fields which turned the whole scene brightly orange. I found this lonely tree which separated from the background perfectly because of the layers of mist between it and the fields and forests behind it.
