Ko Tao is an island in Thailand and is part of the Chumphon Archipelago on the western shore of the Gulf of Thailand. It covers an area of about 21 km². Administratively it is a subdistrict of Ko Pha-ngan District of Surat Thani Province. As of 2006 its official population was 1,382. The main settlement is Ban Mae Hat. The economy of the island is almost exclusively centered on tourism, especially scuba diving.

- This deckhand works 7 days a week and hard. Pulling up happy vacation scuba divers, slicing pineapples perfectly and maintaining an aura of safety and fun at all times. No English but his work ethic was admirable while still enjoying his craft. I caught him enjoying the morning before the day started. I love the photo!
