I wouldnât have called this a perfect day, at least not by most standards. Dark, cold, and a bit snowy for fall. It wasnât blue skies and sunny to say the least.
Despite everything being a bit âmessyâ it was a prefect day for photography and it led to amazing shots like this one.

- Photography is based around light. Where it is and what itâs doing to the landscape in front of you. Since itâs so unpredictable, you can look at the same mountain range 100 times and never see something amazing, or see 100 amazing things. This night I just glanced out the window and saw some amazing light. I wasnât sure at the time what the final photos would look like. I just had to do my best to capture part of what I could see. Just a bit of those crazy rays. Glad I pulled the camera out.

Silverthorne
- I love walking to this spot. Iâve been to it dozens of times and this is the first view of the mountains when youâre walking on this path. The view gets better but itâs hard to beat that first spot where you can see a view like this one. Lucky me, this spot had some golden colors for me to show off that crazy contrast of that snowy peak (peak 1).
