Dughla is a small hamlet in Solukhumbu District in the Himalayas of Nepal, to the south of Khumbu Glacier. The settlement, consisting of several huts, is located at an elevation of 4,620 metres, making it one of the highest settlements in the world, but likely not permanently inhabited all year around as it is essentially a collection of huts catering to hikers.

About this picture
This was 7:30 in the morning, when the clouds usually have yet to settle. Though, this was one of the first times during the Everest Base Camp trek that we actually saw mountain peaks. The previous days it had been cloudy and misty, obstructing the magnificent vistas.
I almost missed this view, since it’s the view looking backwards. It sure is important to look back once in a while!
