Hassan II
Hassan II; 9 July 1929 – 23 July 1999 was King of Morocco from 1961 until his death in 1999. He was a member of the Alaouite dynasty. He was the eldest son of Mohammed V, Sultan, then King of Morocco, and his second wife, Lalla Abla bint Tahar.

The Hassan II Mosque is a mosque in Casablanca, Morocco. It is the second largest mosque in Africa After the Algiers grand mosque, and the 7th largest in the world. Its minaret is the world's second tallest minaret at 210 metres. Completed in 1993, it was designed by Michel Pinseau and built by Bouygues.
