Uluwatu is a place on the south-western tip of the Bukit Peninsula of Bali, Indonesia. It is home to the Pura Luhur Uluwatu Temple. The name Uluwatu comes from ulu, meaning ‘lands end’, and watu, meaning ‘rock’.

Uluwatu Temple
- It had been on the list for a while. Whisked from the hotel mid-afternoon and onto a busy Balinese motorway. Unfazed local families piled up on one motorbike weaving through the traffic can be seen from the van window. We soon arrived at the temple, 40,000 IDR and a sarong tied — I entered the temple. - Uluwatu Temple, or Pura Luhur Uluwatu, is renowned for its magnificent location, perched on top of a steep cliff approximately 70 metres above the waves. It’s definitely one of the top places in Bali for witnessing a delightful sunset, with direct views overlooking the beautiful waves of the Indian Ocean.
