Marsaxlokk

Marsaxlokk is a small, traditional fishing village in the South Eastern Region of Malta. It has a harbour, and is a tourist attraction known for its views, fishermen and history. As at March 2014, the village had a population of 3,534.

Marsaxlokk
An a day we ventured to a part of the island to rent scooters, I found these boats in the marina. I was transfixed. They are called Luzzu and are boats built in a tradition that takes in Phoenician, Italian and Maltese influences. The eyes are called "The eye of Horace" and are thought to protect the boat from harm. I love the colors. Shot on 35mm film, 1998, Canon A2E.
