Tarragona is a port city located in Catalonia, in the north-east of Spain.
The city is broadly organised around two areas: the historic city centre with its monuments and alleys steeped in history and the modern city which is full of shops, restaurants and beautiful avenues. In the historic city centre you can visit the Roman remains of Tarragona, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There is also the National Museum of Archaeology which displays some beautiful mosaics and many statues found in the area. Finally, there are many evening events organised in the amphitheatre in the summer. For example, there is a beautiful film about the history of the city.
The little tourist train
In the "modern" part of the city, you can go to the Rambla, a place where the inhabitants like to come and relax and have a walk with their families. There are also beaches, the Miracle beach is easily accessible and the most beautiful beach in Tarragona is the playa Arrabassada located just at the entrance of the city, to the north.
