Shibuya is one of the 23 special wards that make up Tokyo, Japan. The district was founded in 1932. Along with the name of the district, the name "Shibuya" refers to the railway station and the business district around the station.
The atmosphere and way of life are very specific to Japan, and it is often a place where you feel out of place. Indeed, there are many skyscrapers filled with shops and full of illuminated signs. Something not to be missed in Shibuya is its iconic crossroads. The chaotic, yet surprisingly organized crossroads has become a symbol of Tokyo's dynamism and is representative of Shibuya, the quintessential avant-garde fashion and arts district.
