The cliffs and the Aiguille Creuse have made Etretat world famous. Natural wonders, these giants, which rise to almost 90 metres, are ancient witnesses to the evolution of the Normandy coast.
Etretat is also known for its famous monuments and statues, including the Nungesser and Coli monument, which are very close to the Hotel Le Rayon Vert.
Etretat, a small beaching port already well known in Roman times, has long lived to the rhythm of fishing activities. Traces of this period are still visible on the seafront: you can see the capstans used to pull the boats up onto the pebbles or the caloges, old boats covered with thatch.
