An elegant seaside resort in southwestern France, Biarritz was once the favourite holiday destination of the nobility. The town is located some 20 kilometres from the Spanish border, offering its visitors an atmosphere from elsewhere. Biarritz was founded in the 19th century as a modest fishing village. In the streets near the Grand Plage, you will find period monuments such as villas, the casino, or large hotels, such as the emblematic Hotel du Palais. The scenery is magnificent: the view of the vast Atlantic Ocean, the beach with fine sand, a spot very well known by surfers and in the background, the Pyrenees mountain range and the Virgin Rock, symbol of Biarritz.
