Argentina is a country of incomparable beauty, home to true natural wonders. Among them, the Perito Moreno glacier occupies a special place. Descending from the Andes Mountains like a river, this gigantic glacial formation stretches its blue shoulders over several kilometers, offering visitors a pure visual marvel, mixing shades of white and sparkling blue, worthy of the most beautiful postcards.
Its glacier front is 5,000 meters long and 60 meters high, but the entire glacier can reach up to 700 meters wide in some places! It is not the biggest nor the highest glacier but it is the most astonishing because it advances every day of several kilometers by collapsing on all the sides in the lake, creating big waves, constituting a landscape which is worth the detour. Today, those who want to see this incredible blue giant can access it from footbridges, by boat, by road and a well-marked path joining Los Glaciares National Park, in the province of Santa Cruz, on the Chilean border. This region is also home to some mythical peaks of the Andes, such as the famous Fitz Roy or Cerro Torre and sumptuous lakes of glacial origin. Several options are available to you to stay and enjoy the area: hiking, trekking, boat excursions, kayaking are available from the different and sumptuous hotels in the area. Each of them will allow you to discover a different facet of the Perito Moreno glacier!
