Travel Tips for visiting Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City is the largest city and economic center of Vietnam famous for the decisive role it played in the Vietnam War. It is located on the banks of the Saigon River. Located near the Mekong Delta, this city is the metropolis of the south of the country. It is emblematic of the process of metropolisation in Southeast Asia . Originally a Khmer fishing village, it became a city of Vietnamese (and Chinese) settlement from the 17th century onwards under the impetus of the Nguyen imperial court in Hue.

Very young and dynamic. Centuries-old alleys and well-preserved temples, bold architectural skyscrapers bring modernity. The China Town district is a must, the commercial activities are very lively, the streets are colorful, the temples and pagodas are numerous and the food is good. You can find Food stalls line the city's streets, especially around the bustling Bến Thành market.

The Cathedral of Our Lady of Saigon built on the model of the cathedral of Notre Dame de Paris but smaller. Builted with materials imported from France.
