Da Nang is the fourth largest city in Vietnam. It is a large, modern and lively city. Its streets are wide and relatively clean with very few street vendors. What to do in Da Nang? Top things to see and do? 1. The Cham Sculpture Museum Visiting the Cham Museum in Da Nang is highly recommended, especially with a professional guide to learn about the Champa civilisation and its art. The museum is the finest collection of Cham culture antiquities in the world. 2. Discover Ba Na Hills by cable car Bana Hills is a recreational park located at an altitude of 1,500m, 25km southwest of Da Nang. The climate is cool all year round and you can experience all four seasons in one day. It was also a resort for French soldiers in the early 20th century. In 1940, there were about 200 villas, including the Morin Hotel, which still exists. Bana Hills was deserted after the Indochina war but has recently regained its tourist aspect. It is a favourite destination for Asians. The Ba Na cable cars hold the record for the longest wire rope in the world with a total length of more than 5,771 metres, the record for the greatest difference in height between the start and finish at more than 1,369 metres, the longest fibre rope at 11,587 metres and the heaviest rope reel in the world at 141.24 tonnes. It is a dreamlike terrain that allows one to dream in a movie setting where tourists find a huge change of scenery, a romantic magic.
