Learn More about Salt Lake City

Located in the western United States and capital of the state of Utah, discover Salt Lake City

Founded by Mormon pioneers in the 19th century who had fled religious persecution, the city is the main industrial and commercial centre of the state of Utah, notably with the mining of the famous Bingham Canyon mine. It is the 2nd largest producer of copper in the United States.

You can start your visit by visiting the Seagull Monument. Built in 1913 and as its name suggests, it is a building dedicated to the seagulls that are true symbols of Utah.

Of course, you must also pass by the famous Great Salt Lake. It is the largest in the Americas, with a surface area of 4400 square kilometres. The lake is bordered by hills and small valleys. Because of its salinity, it allows you to float, so you can have fun swimming in it.

Not far from the lake is Antelope Island. This is a nature park where you can find various animals such as antelopes, bison and sheep. A real zoo in its purest form, where you can go on beautiful walks along the paths.

Don't forget the famous Temple Square, which is very popular in Salt Lake City. It is a garden of about 14 hectares where you can find various historical sites, starting with the Mormon Temple or the Assembly Hall.

The city also has a capitol, the State Capitol. The capitol is similar in architecture to that of the American capital, Washington.

As mentioned above, Salt Lake City is also famous for the Bingham Canyon mine, so don't hesitate to walk around it.

Finally, if you want to relax a bit and continue to discover the soothing, flowery landscape, head to the Red Butte Garden. This is a large botanical garden owned by the city's university. Founded in 1930, the garden has several green areas and paths.

Salt Lake City is full of other activities, especially around the city.
