Learn More about Grindelwald

Grindelwald is a very interesting place in the heart of the Swiss Alps. It combines adventure sports with magnificent views and varies its activities between modernity and age-old traditions.
It is definitely worth a stop and even a stay.
You could just stop and make snowmen... But is there more to it than that?

Grindelwald First is a famous ski resort where all kinds of snow sports are welcome. It is the Eldorado for skiers and snowboarders who can try out new tricks and jumps or simply improve their style. It is also possible to ski tour.

You can also try out other sports such as sledging and velogemel. What is a velogemel you may ask? Typical of the region, this recognisable snow bike even has its own world championships.

Grindelwald also has a long tradition of rock climbing.
The coldest season brings ice climbing to the fore. As with all sports, there are routes and circuits for every level.
From introductory sessions and safety courses to ice climbing dreams and private ice climbing courses, there is plenty to do in Grindelwald!
All introductory courses require basic climbing, mountaineering or indoor climbing training and basic rope skills.

Stop and smell the famous wild flowers of the Swiss mountains for a fleeting summer...

Among the summer activities in Grindenwald is the Canyon Swing, where you can test your courage.
Jump 85 metres into the gorge of the Grindelwald Glacier and still stay alive!

It seems that no hiking trail comes closer to the Eiger's famous north face. The Eiger hiking trail is open from July to October and the total hiking time is two hours. The starting point is Eigergletscher and the finishing point is Grindelwald. Take the famous Jungfrau Railway to the starting point.
Postcard-perfect views await you. The most difficult sections are secured with ropes.

Another great hike is from Grindelwald to First.
This hike is punctuated by the spectacle of white water streams, green pastures and grazing Swiss cows.
This intermediate level hike takes about three hours and is uphill all the way. Once at the top, jump on a gondola and head back to Grindelwald!
