Learn More about Torrevieja

During the 1980s, the city, which today has more than 83,000 inhabitants, expanded at a dizzying pace, and thousands of Europeans bought houses and apartments there. Previously, the town lived off its salt marshes and salt production. Every year in August, the festival of Habaneras takes place, in memory of Cuba, the lost colony. Its streets are filled with Caribbean melodies.

Torrevieja (Spain) - this is a wonderful area in the southern part of the Costa Blanca, the White Coast. The mild climate here is beautiful. The dry winds of all living winds from Africa's Sahara Desert to Torrevieja cover the mountains of Granada and access the cold northern vortex blocking the Central Cordillera. Therefore, the thermal division was easily accepted by northerners. The average July temperature is just 25°C. A winter thermometer rarely drops below the 12°C mark. It is home to the largest community of people in Spain, which includes many migrants from our country. And in the suburbs grow huge citrus plantations. It also ranks first in Spain in terms of area and production. Citrus from Torrevieja collapsed on the table, not just locals, but dissent far beyond the country.

The fact that swimming is dangerous or even forbidden, indicates the flag - a yellow or red color. Del Cura is suitable for those who do not want to go further to the sea and the sun. This beach is located in the center of Torrevieja. However, summer is crowded. South of the center is Naufragos - a great place for active recreation. Along the northern edge of the city of Los Lokos stretches first, and then - the vast La Mata.

On the Paseo de la Libertad every half hour cruise ships go, which will take you directly to the foot of the Moorish tower. From the top observation deck of the Torre del Moro, which was built dating back to the XIV century, and has stunning views over the harbour. Torre de la Mata is located away from the city center. A lot of comments go to the local church Iglesia de la Inmaculada Concepción. On the square in front of the shrine are celebrations in the city. Torrevieja museum is free for guests. Reviewers suggest visiting the exhibition "Sea and Salt", which fully reveals the history of the production of this indispensable product. In the Palace concerts are held periodically, as well as a festival of Cuban music "Habaneras".
