Costa da Caparica is a Portuguese civil parish, located in the municipality of Almada along the western coast of the district of Setúbal. The population in 2011 was 13,418, in an area of 10.18 km². Since 9 December 2004, the Costa da Caparica has been designated as city within the urban hierarchy of Portugal.

The area offers incredible natural landscapes to discover. Its name comes from the largest city in the area, which is a large and lively seaside resort. The beaches of the Costa da Caparica are rocked by strong waves, so it is an ideal place for water activities like surfing or kite surfing and many others. If these activities don't appeal to you, you can lounge on the warm sand. Many beaches are part of the Costa da Caparica, the most famous being São João, Nova Beach, Castelo Beach and Sereia Beach, but if you want a beach that is not too crowded, Cova Do Vapor is the ideal destination. Beaches are not the only attraction of the city. Indeed, its cliffs are protected because they contain a lot of fossils, so a natural reserve has been created to protect them. To discover a panoramic view of the city, you must visit Cristo Rei, the most emblematic monument of the area, inspired by the Christ the Redeemer of Rio de Janeiro. From its top, you can contemplate the city and see the natural parks and even Lisbon. Costa da Caparica is a very touristic and lively place where Portuguese gather every year. In the city center, you can find many restaurants, cafés, in summer there are a lot of cultural events taking place giving a holiday vibe to the city. Costa da Caparica is a real tourist destination that allows you to enjoy its beautiful beaches by practicing the activities offered on site or by walking to discover its coastal landscapes.
To travel from Lisbon to Costa da Caparica it takes about 20 minutes by car and 30 minutes by taking the bus, which comes every 30 minutes
